The US State Security Service has officially confirmed that its employees are providing protection to the US Ambassador to Moldova.
In response to a request from local journalists, the Service provided details of government bodyguards for Derek J. Hogan, the US Ambassador to Chisinau, noting that on February 28, 2019, the US Embassy signed a contract for security and bodyguard services for an indefinite period.
Representatives of the Service did not name the amount at which the services provided to the American diplomat cost, referring to the fact that information about the concluded contracts and the financing of the institution is a state secret.
