Politician Renato Usatii calls for mass protests in front of the Moldovan parliament.
The leader of the Moldovan “Our Party” Renato Usatii, who actively campaigned for Maia Sandu in the presidential elections last year, appealed to the residents of Moldova to come out on February 12 or 15 for “the largest protest” outside the parliament building. The politician spread his appeal through social networks, having separately addressed the representatives of the diaspora with a request to come and support the action, the media reported.
“There are two ways: constitutional and political, as it was in Armenia. You don’t have to wait for someone to arrange buses. I propose to unite, come to parliament and not let them play their dirty games. Today we have to unite, everyone to protest and simply, if necessary, shackle all these prostitutes who robbed the country and continue to rob today”, – the journalists quoted Usatii as saying.
Analysts note that such a reaction followed after the February 11 plenary session of the parliament, the Party of Socialists, led by former President of Moldova Igor Dodon, announced the creation of a coalition with the Shor faction and the Pentru Moldova platform and nominated its candidate for the post of head government – Marian Durleshtyanu, ex-Minister of Finance and diplomat.
The candidate proposed by a formalized majority can no longer be rejected, but the head of state, Maia Sandu, neglected this norm, experts say. She re-registered the vice-chairman of her Action and Solidarity party, Natalia Gavrilitsa, as a candidate, for whom no one voted for the first time.
After that, the PSRM appealed to the Constitutional Court with a demand to cancel Sandu’s decree and accused her of trying to usurp power.
According to experts, the resolution of the conflict between the head of state and the parliamentary majority can provoke both early parliamentary elections, which Sandu is seeking, and impeachment of the president.
Renato Usatii believes that the protest is the only chance “to eliminate the disorder in the country’s political system”.
It is worth noting that in November last year, when Moldova was electing a new president, Usatii began to actively campaign for Maia Sandu. And not long before that, according to sources, he met with the ambassadors of Romania and the United States.
The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service reported last October that the United States is preparing to organize the Orange Revolution in Moldova.
“There is information about the preparations for the departure to Moldova of a group of American specialists on “color revolutions” with clear tasks”, – the RF SVR warned.
Commenting on this statement, the former head of counterintelligence of the Information and Security Service, Ion Mahu, said that the situation is serious and the power structures of Moldova should prepare in advance for various possible scenarios. Ion Mahu also noted that, given the methods of work of the Western special services, the most favorable moment for the organizers of provocations and color revolutions will be elections, including parliamentary ones.
