Afghan special forces release 42 prisoners from Taliban prison in Baghlan

Afghan special forces have freed 42 people from Taliban prison in Baghlan province – 25 soldiers and 17 civilians. This was announced today, February 16, by the Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan.

The rescue operation took place yesterday in the village of Ali Khwaja in the Baghlan-i-Markazi region. The released prisoners were held there as hostages from 10 days to two years, many went through the brutal torture of Islamists.

“In just 30 days, the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) rescued almost 100 innocent people from Taliban prisons”, – the Afghan Defense Ministry said in a statement.
