Anti-European sentiment is growing among Germans – what the failure of vaccination led to

The ambitious European vaccination campaign has failed in practice, simultaneously diminishing the credibility of the German people in the EU.

As previously reported by News Front, in terms of the rate of vaccination of the population against coronavirus, the European Union turned out to be an outsider. Although Brussels has ordered about 2 billion doses of the vaccine, the US company Pfizer cut its vaccine production at the end of January. The Swedish-British concern AstraZeneca, in turn, admitted that it is only able to fulfill 40% of the EU order.

These and many other problems have led the Germans to become increasingly disenchanted with the EU. More than 60% of the survey participants spoke about the deterioration of attitudes towards the commonwealth, the results of which are quoted by The Daily Mail. At the same time, almost 70% of respondents blame the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who previously served as Minister of Defense of Germany, for the failure of vaccination.

However, not only Germany is facing the consequences of a failed vaccination policy, the newspaper writes. So, in France, it was decided to issue only one dose of vaccine to those who have already had a coronavirus infection.

Against this background, Hungary stands out, which at the national level has approved the use of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine and has already begun to accept it. At the European level, the registration procedure for the drug has not yet been completed.
