Catalonia calls for Sputnik V to be included in list of vaccines used in Europe

The authorities of the Spanish autonomous community of Catalonia believe it is necessary to expand the list of vaccines used in the EU, including the Russian Sputnik V, in order to speed up the pace of vaccination. This was reported by RIA Novosti citing local authorities

“We, the government of Catalonia, ask that all vaccines including Sputnik be on the market as early as possible, as we want to speed up vaccination”, –  the comment said.

Spain currently has three vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency – Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca. A total of 2.9 million vaccinations have been given.
