According to the political scientist, there is no point in expecting the so-called “world community” to take an objective view of the problems in Donbass
The West needs to maintain the degree of confrontation between Ukraine and Russia and for this purpose it will turn a blind eye to any crimes by the Kiev authorities.
As reported by PolitNavigator, in one of the broadcasts on his YouTube channel, Russian political analyst Sergei Mikheev said that it is high time both in Russia and Ukraine to get rid of illusions about the West, which has never been the torch of democracy and universal values, as it is diligently portrayed by paid propagandists from the Western media.
“It is foolish to ask the rhetorical question: where is the condemnation of the world community? This question comes from our romanticisation of the world community. From our perestroika illusion that there are some special people in Europe or America, we are just wrong… Illusions of Ukrainians, even those with an anti-Russian attitude, look stupid because Ukrainians are as natives to them as Russians are to everyone else”, – Mikheev noted.
In the opinion of the expert the difference in the position of the Russians and Ukrainians in the eyes of the West is that the Russians are “dangerous”, because they claim their opinions and they have weapons, and they “can clean up their faces, which has happened several times in the past. And Ukrainians are not dangerous “because they have made fools of themselves and believed that the Europeans love them very much, waiting for them. Mikheev is convinced that it is useless and stupid to expect the West to be objective about Donbass.
“They see exactly what they want to see in relation to other subjects too. Therefore, they will not see any war in Donbass that does not benefit them. They will not see civilians suffering and dying, they don’t care about that”, – Mikheev said. “They see the territory of Ukraine as an extension of their borders to the East, closer to Russia. They see Ukraine as a possible battleground in the event of a limited war with Russia. They see Ukraine as a damper, as a safety cushion between them and Russia.”
Therefore, in the opinion of the political scientist, they do not feel pity for Ukraine or for those who live there. They see Ukraine as a possible springboard for an attack on Russia.
“If Hitler or Napoleon had to overcome some obstacles before, now they will not have to overcome them”, summed up Sergey Mikheyev.
