According to American experts, as long as there will be the problem of Crimea and the war in Donbass, Ukraine will not be able to join NATO.
In an interview with “Apostrof” famous American political technologist-Republican and writer Dane Waters said that in his opinion, the war in Donbass will continue and it affects Ukraine’s chances of joining NATO.
“Look, think about the concept of the Alliance. NATO’s role is to protect member countries. If Ukraine becomes a member of NATO and there is a war in Ukraine, it means that the Alliance must intervene in the conflict. I should note that I am not an expert in this field, but in my opinion, as long as the conflict in Donbas lasts and as long as the Crimea problem exists, Ukraine will not have the opportunity to become a part of NATO,” Waters said.
The political technologist added that it was obvious that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was well informed on this issue.
