Rear Admiral Vyacheslav Sytnik, deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Hostile Parties in Syria (CPRF), has reported that Russian air defenses repelled an attack on the Khmeimim air base from the territory of Idlib de-escalation zone by the militants
“At 19:45 Moscow time on February 9, Russian air defence assets repelled an attack on the Hmeimimim air base using long-range multiple rocket launchers”, – Sytnik noted.
He noted that objective controls established that the shelling came from the territory of the Idlib de-escalation zone controlled by illegal armed groups.
“There were no casualties or material damage. The Russian Khmeimim airbase is operating as planned.”
