New batch of Sputnik V vaccine delivered to Serbia

According to Tanjug, the vaccine has been sent to the Torlak Institute of Virology in Belgrade, from where it will be distributed to vaccination centers.

As reported by TASS, on Tuesday, the Tanjug agency says that a new batch of the Russian vaccine against the Sputnik V coronavirus had arrived in Serbia. It is reported that the Air Serbia plane carrying a batch of vaccine took off from Sheremetyevo airport at 05:00 Moscow time. Serbia’s Minister of Innovation and Technological Development, head of the intergovernmental committee for cooperation with Russia, Nenad Popovic, oversaw the shipment of cargo from Moscow.

According to the Serbian minister, the situation with the vaccine has become “proof of the fraternal relations between the two countries and the best personal relations between Presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Vladimir Putin”.

“A vaccine is more expensive than gold today. Vaccines are important for us to preserve the health and life of people, as well as for the economy and return to normal life. If Serbia continues to vaccinate at the current rate, we can be the first to defeat the pandemic”, – Popovic said.

At 06:30 Belgrade time, the liner landed at Nikola Tesla airport, after which the Sputnik V vaccine was immediately delivered to the Torlak Institute of Virology in Belgrade, from where it will be sent in small batches to vaccination centers throughout the country. A delegation of Russian specialists is expected to arrive at the institute on February 11 to assess the capabilities of the institution.
