Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Ukraine would like to see NATO also do something for the country’s membership in the Alliance.
“We are following our own path of Euro-Atlantic integration. In 2008, we were given a clear, paper-based promise that we would be NATO members. A clear instruction was given by the NATO Foreign Minister to develop the submission of a Membership Action Plan to Ukraine. Since then, we have been moving a lot, thanks to the systematic work of the Deputy Prime Minister, today the government adopted a draft presidential decree on the national program. We want NATO to also see their position develop. We are grateful that last year Ukraine received the status of a partner with expanded opportunities, but still this issue lies outside the solution in Bucharest. 13 years have passed, so the question arises: why, where is the movement forward?” – said Kuleba.
