Bloomberg: Sputnik V vaccine was a scientific breakthrough

Bloomberg has published an article describing the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V as one of the greatest scientific breakthroughs since the Soviet Union

Experts of the agency stressed that the attitude of the global community to the Sputnik V vaccine had been greatly influenced by the publication of the results of the third phase of research in the authoritative scientific journal Lancet.

“Countries are lining up for supplies of Sputnik V after peer-reviewed results published in the Lancet medical journal this week showed that the Russian vaccine […] protects against the deadly virus far more effectively than Chinese competitors”, –  the agency said.

At least 19 countries have now approved Russia’s Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine: one of them was Hungary, a member of the European Union.

“The vaccine cannot be a political issue”, –  said Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

The authors of the Bloomberg article stress that in the global battle to defeat the coronavirus pandemic, the vaccine race has taken on geopolitical significance. This is why Russia has become one of the few countries to gain an advantage thanks to the fact that Russian scientists have created an effective defence.
