Blocked Ukrainian TV channels have applied to the EU, PACE and OSCE
According to RIA Novosti, “the TV channels of the Novosti media holding – 112 Ukraine, NEWSONE and ZiK – have informed the international community, embassies and international human rights organizations about the pressure on independent media and restrictions on freedom of speech in Ukraine.
In particular, the letters were sent to the president of the European Council, the secretary-general of the Council of Europe, the PACE president, the EU mission, the OSCE chairman, the US, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Austrian and British embassies and other organizations.
Additionally, the TV channels denied the information that a lawsuit challenging the sanctions decree was filed with the Supreme Court of Ukraine. It is noted that this will be done in the near future. The lawsuits filed allegedly in the interests of the TV channels are a “technique of the authorities” which is aimed at obtaining a refusal to open proceedings in a controlled lawsuit, the report said.
