Paraguay signs agreement to buy Russian vaccine

The country’s Ministry of Health approved the use of the drug under an accelerated procedure in mid-January

The South American republic’s health minister Julio Massoleni said the Paraguayan government had signed an agreement with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) to buy the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, TASS reported.

“I am happy to announce that we have signed a contract with RDIF”, –  he said at a press conference that was broadcast on Paraguay TV, –  “It is about the Sputnik V vaccine. We are waiting for the contracts that have already been signed to announce the quantities and dates of delivery.”

In mid-January, Paraguay’s Ministry of Health approved the use of Sputnik V in the country under an accelerated procedure.
