According to the survey, 15% of Democrats polled said they would be most likely to join the former US president’s party
Many voters in the US would be willing to join a new political party, the possibility of which former US leader Donald Trump has allegedly discussed with his cronies. This is evidenced by the results of a poll published on Thursday, conducted jointly by The Hill newspaper and HarrisX service.
According to the cited data, 37% of respondents said they would be most likely to join a party with Trump as leader.
As the publication explains, 64% of Republican respondents said they would be willing to join the political party. 36% of respondents who support the Republican Party do not intend to do so.
According to the survey, 15% of the Democrats surveyed said that they would most likely join Trump’s party. The same response was given by 28% of those voters who do not support either party.
The poll was conducted online on 28 and 29 January. A total of 945 registered voters took part.
According to The Wall Street Journal and several other media outlets, Trump had discussed the possibility of creating a “new political party” with his associates before he left office. He allegedly wanted to call it the “Patriot Party”. Politico claimed that Trump had told people in his entourage that he intended to run for president of the United States in 2024.
