Josep Borrell did not specify with whom and where he met
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell tarted his visit to Russia with a meeting with representatives of Russian non-governmental organisations. Borrel wrote about it on Twitter on Friday.
“Started his visit to snow-covered Moscow with a meeting with representatives of civil society, which is full of life despite the shrinking space for independent voices in Russia. The EU has been and will remain the main sponsor of civil society projects in Russia”, – he wrote, without specifying with whom or where he held the meetings.
The official plan for Borrell’s visit includes, in addition to talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, meetings with representatives of Russian civil society organisations and the academic community in Moscow.
