Russian coronavirus vaccine could be available in India by spring 2021

This statement was made by the Indian pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories

A Russian vaccine against Sputnik V coronavirus may appear in Indian hospitals by March or April 2021, RIA-FAN reports.

The announcement was made by Indian pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. They noted that the company, together with the Russian Direct Investment Fund, is conducting the third phase of clinical trials of Sputnik V in India.

“According to the company’s management, studies were conducted on 20,000 people. The result showed the effectiveness of the vaccine. In people over 60 years of age, the rate reached 91.8%”, –  it said.

The third phase is scheduled to be completed in February 2021. After that, the company will apply to the national medicines regulator for permission to use the Russian drug. The price for it has not yet been determined. Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories plans to make the vaccine available to people.
