According to Glavred, military expert, reserve colonel Oleg Zhdanov said that if the US joins the Normandy format, it will become the biggest beneficiaries – and that is why they are eager to join the game. At the same time, Ukraine will do as it is told.
“Because both Democrats (to a greater extent) and Republicans (to a lesser extent) have all invested a lot of money here. Thanks to this, our ‘suitcase’ already has a ‘handle’ and it has become cheaper to carry Ukraine than to abandon it. That is why the Americans will never let the Russian Federation into Ukraine and will not allow the border between Russia and NATO to run along the Ukrainian western border again”, – thinks Zhdanov.
According to the military expert, it is much more advantageous for the Americans to have a buffer state that is actually at war with Russia.
“And in case the confrontation with Russia escalates, the Americans will give Ukraine any weapons, and we will be able to launch an offensive operation in the east. That’s when President Zelensky may “see the light” and admit that “that side” turns out to be Russia. In the meantime, judging by his speeches, we are at war with an incomprehensible “other side”. And then we will go on the offensive with Javelins”, – Zhdanov noted, – “And Ukraine is only a pawn on the chessboard of the US political game.”
