According to RIA FAN, in a conversation with Moskovsky Komsomolets political analyst Alexander Rahr expressed confidence that the gas pipeline will eventually be completed. Russia and Germany will save face, but a new phase of confrontation will soon follow.
“Rahr is sure that the opponents of NSP2 will not calm down. They will use any legal instruments to make the pipeline function at only half of its capacity”, – Rahr said. – “Germany would be severely affected by the option to cancel the Russian project, the expert said. The Germans would have to pay compensation and Berlin’s credibility would be damaged”.
The journalist is convinced that Germany is indeed making significant efforts to complete the pipeline. According to him, Merkel is having a hard time.
