US bombers can be based in Norway

The US Air Force is beefing up its defences with help from Norway. B-1B Lancer bombers will soon arrive there

“The planes will arrive in February, depending on how long it takes to train the crews”, – said Colonel Eivind Gunnerud of 132 Luftving.

It is also reported that the planes will arrive from Texas to Orland airfield in Norway. It is about 480 kilometres from the Arctic Circle, an area divided between eight countries: Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, the US, Canada, Denmark and Iceland.

The more the Americans take over Norwegian soil, the more likely it is that Norway will turn into a battlefield between the US and Russia, said Professor Turmud Heye.

“Norway and the US are waging a new cold war with Russia. The main emphasis is on containment, not appeasement”, –  said the professor.
