The Russian Consulate General in New York has appealed to the Office of Diplomatic Missions to provide security in connection with hooliganism outside the diplomatic mission
On Tuesday an anti-Russian action was held near the Consulate General. One of the participants threw a can of paint at the building’s facade.
“The building suffered material damage. These hooligan actions could have posed a threat to visitors to the consulate general and staff”, – diplomats said.
The diplomatic mission stressed that it had made “repeated attempts to contact representatives of the New York police, but they did not feel able to arrive to restore order”.
“We sent an appeal to the Office of Diplomatic Missions on Tuesday night demanding security”, – the Consulate General said.
