Mexican authorities have approved the use of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V

The Federal Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) in Mexico has approved the emergency use of the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus Sputnik V in the country

“Cofepris has just issued a permit for the emergency use of the Sputnik V vaccine developed by the Centre. Gamaleya. Gamaleya. This makes it possible to import and use it”, –  said Hugo Lopez-Gatelle, deputy minister of health of the republic.

According to Mexican Ministry of Health, since last February more than 2 million people have been infected with coronavirus in the country, and 160,000 patients have died.
