EU demands more active fight against corruption from Ukraine

The head of the EU mission in Ukraine, Matti Maasikas, said that the EU would like to see the introduction of more effective measures to combat corruption in the country

“The effort to resume the requirement of electronic declaration of assets was a step in the right direction. We would like to see further improvements, in particular the introduction of an effective deterrent”, –  Maasikas said.

He also said that Ukraine badly needs to “reform the High Council of Justice of Ukraine as an institution that should be at the heart of judicial reform”.
