Svetlana Tikhanovskaya said that together with her, the entire Belarusian people are applying for the Nobel Peace Prize.
According to DW, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda nominated one of the leaders of the Belarusian opposition Svetlana Tikhanovskaya for the Nobel Peace Prize.
“This is an excellent expression of solidarity with Belarus and recognition of our peaceful struggle for freedom, which has inspired the whole world since August last year”, – Tikhanovskaya herself wrote on Twitter, adding that the entire Belarusian people are nominated for this award together with her.
According to the AFP agency, all three leaders of the Belarusian opposition have been nominated for the Nobel Prize – apart from Tikhanovskaya, Maria Kolesnikova and Veronika Tsepkalo.
The civil rights movement Black Lives Matter (BLM) is also nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize this year. As the saying goes, “both are worse”.
