The US Navy destroyers Porter and Donald Cook conducted exercises in the Black Sea. This is reported by the American Embassy in Ukraine.
“In the Black Sea, the US Navy destroyers Porter and Donald Cook conducted a naval operation involving NATO AWACS long-range radar detection and control aircraft and the US Navy P-8A [patrol aircraft] to further strengthen cooperation between NATO members”, – the diplomatic mission said on Twitter.
The US embassy noted that American forces are concentrated in the Black Sea in order to “support NATO member countries and Alliance partners that have access to this sea”.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly stressed that the presence of foreign warships in the Black Sea “does not contribute to strengthening stability”.
