The police used water cannons against the participants of the protest, which unfolded in the center of Paris.
As previously reported by News Front, the French came to the Place de la Republique, protesting against the adoption of the law “On National Security”.
One of the articles of the document provides for a penalty of imprisonment for distributing “an image of a person or other element of identification” of a law enforcement officer during the performance of official duties “with the obvious purpose of harming their physical or mental integrity”.
The protests in Paris began today at 13: 00 local time [15: 00 Moscow time]. The demonstrators marched in a column to the Republic Square, where they launched a rally. About an hour before the curfew, security forces began to disperse the protesters. Water cannons were used against those who were particularly persistent.
