Acting Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman has proposed installing a permanent fence around the Congress building to improve security. Reported by Reuters.
“I can say for sure that massive improvements to the physical security infrastructure are needed, including the installation of a permanent fence, as well as the deployment of reinforcements close to the Capitol, which will be in a state of readiness”, – Pittman said.
As previously reported by The Hill newspaper, Pittman and her team expressed distrust and accused of failing to take proper action ahead of the events of January 6, when supporters of former US President Donald Trump stormed into the building of the US Congress.
