Biden can’t beat the far-right – they’re even in the FBI

The history of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is riddled with racism, from the Hoover era to the present.

As previously reported by News Front, January in the United States began with a major protest in the country’s capital. Supporters of Donald Trump opposed the recognition of legitimate results of the rigged presidential election.

The protest ended with the storming of the Capitol. After that, the FBI began tracking Trump supporters across the country and even in the police, applying punitive measures against them.

The Democratic administration of Joe Biden encouraged such a “hunt” under the pretext of fighting far-right extremists, hypocritically ignoring the tacit racist policy of the US special services.

In particular, according to The Guardian, the bureau identified a threat from “white supremacists” as early as 15 years ago, and right-wing extremists in the ranks of the police have been known since at least 1961. All this has been ignored for decades. Moreover, even the first director of the FBI, Edgar Hoover, fought against any movement that protected blacks or indigenous peoples.

By the end of Hoover’s administration, the feds had gone so far as to arm a right-wing militant group in San Diego to eliminate leftist leaders. On January 6, 1972, the FBI’s “secret army” attempted to assassinate Peter Bohmer, an economics professor and staunch Marxist, and Paula Tharp, who had previously worked for an underground newspaper. The bureau-controlled radicals blew up a movie theater and planned the murder of the leaders of the leftist Mexican organization “Brown Berets”. No FBI employee has been held accountable for these actions.

Decades later, in the United States, which considers itself the world capital of democracy and freedom, the situation with the security forces has not changed. For example, back in 2017, the FBI created the counterterrorism classification with the designation “Black Identity Extremists”. This happened in response to the activation of the now well-known group “Black Lives Matter”. The new designation was actively used to spy on black activists and even arrest them.

“Given the FBI’s long history of championing white supremacy, it is clearly ill-equipped to investigate the infiltration of racists into other organizations”, – The Guardian writes.

“The FBI, as well as other military and law enforcement agencies in the country, must thoroughly investigate cases of racist practices. Failure to hold the agency accountable will prove that the current administration’s claims about fighting extremism are a farce”.
