Iceland has begun issuing vaccination passports to citizens vaccinated against the coronavirus

All 4,800 Icelanders who have received both required doses of the vaccine are eligible for digital certificates, the health ministry said, setting up a website to distribute them.

“The aim is to make it easier for people to travel between countries so that people can show the vaccination certificate during border checks and be free of border restrictions”, –  the ministry said.

It is worth noting that the documents, however, have not yet gained international recognition. However, judging by the progress in the introduction of vaccination certificates in the EU countries (Iceland, although not an EU member state, is part of the Schengen area), it is probably only a matter of time, and the wait is unlikely to be long.
