Pashinyan thanked the Russian government for introducing the COVID-19 programme

Earlier, the Russian government allowed Armenian and Belarusian citizens to enter the country through air checkpoints from February 1 to March 1, providing a negative result of a coronavirus test

The Armenian government is grateful to the Russian Cabinet of Ministers for supporting the implementation of the mobile application “Travel without COVID-19,” which will allow citizens of the country to cross the air border with Russia, if they test negative for coronavirus infection electronically from February 1. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at his meeting on Wednesday.

“This is a very important programme and I want to thank my colleagues from the Eurasian Economic Union and the Russian government. In essence, the decision has been taken, there are some technical nuances remaining”, –  he said.

The Russian government on Tuesday amended its decree on anti-epidemic measures to allow citizens of Armenia and Belarus to enter Russia through air checkpoints from February 1 to March 1 by providing a negative test result for coronavirus infection displayed in the mobile app “Travel Without COVID-19”. The app was developed by the Eurasian Development Bank’s Digital Initiatives Fund, headed by the former head of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Tigran Sarkisian.
