Three Syrian soldiers were killed and ten more were injured as a result of a terrorist group’s attack on a bus carrying Arab soldiers, the state news agency SANA reported on January 24. The attack took place last Sunday at about 1:40 pm local time in the Malha al-Shul area in Deir ez-Zor province.
A bus carrying Syrian military personnel on the Deir ez-Zor-Palmyra road came under fire from terrorists who arrived from the At-Tanf area. The attack occurred after some media reports on the transfer by US forces of dozens of ISIS fighters (the Islamic State terrorist group banned in Russia and a number of other countries. – Ed.) from Iraq to the Al-Tanf area to carry out attacks on Syrian army fighters and civilians in Al-Badiya region.
On the Deir ez-Zor-Palmyra road, there are repeated attacks on buses by terrorists controlled by the US occupation forces in the At-Tanf area, which provide protection and support to these groups, SANA notes.
As reported by EADaily, the frequency of combat sorties of Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft in recent weeks has increased in Syria after an attack on a bus on December 30 in the province of Deir ez-Zor, behind which was the Syrian ISIS. The bus transported soldiers of the 4th division of the Syrian Armed Forces on the road between Homs and Deir ez-Zor. As a result of the attack, 37 SAR soldiers were killed.
