The fate of another 10 people remains unknown
Rescuers in Shandong province have lifted 11 people to the surface from a gold mine where there was an explosion on January 11, Xinhua news agency reported on Sunday.
“The first rescued miner was brought to the surface at 11:13 local time (06:13 Moscow time). The man was in serious condition and was immediately taken to hospital”, – the Chinese agency as saying, – “The rescue operation involved 633 people and 407 pieces of equipment.”
The explosion at the mine occurred on January 11, with 22 people inside at the time. Rescuers were able to make contact with 12 miners, one of whom later died. The fate of 10 others remains unknown.
