According to Strana.ua, last year China became the main importer of grain of Ukrainian production.
“In 2019/2020, exports to China amounted to 6.3 million tonnes of grain, and from July last year to January 2021 this figure reached the mark of 6.9 million tonnes. In monetary terms, grain exports to China in 2020 amounted to $1.87 billion”, – the report said.
Acting executive director of the Ukrainian Grain Association Serhiy Ivashchenko said that to further increase the volume of supplies it is necessary to revise the phytosanitary protocol for barley and agree on access of Ukrainian wheat to the Chinese market.
