The Russian army has received the latest reconnaissance complexes

Vega Concern CEO Vyacheslav Mikheyev has announced that the Russian Army has received the latest artillery reconnaissance complexes.

“In December 2020, we handed over the first batch to the customer in accordance with the concluded contract”, –  Mikheyev noted.

The Penicillin system is designed to reconnaissance the firing positions of barrel and reactive artillery, as well as anti-aircraft and tactical missiles: it records acoustic and thermal signals from gunfire and bursts and gives the exact coordinates of the location of the enemy’s gun.

The most important difference between Penicillin and similar reconnaissance complexes is that it detects enemy artillery not through radar, but through a new principle of combining thermal and acoustic reconnaissance, which makes its radio-electronic suppression impossible.
