“We must be ready.” Lavrov predicted the threat of censorship in the United States for the whole world

At a press conference following the results of 2020, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pointed out that the Russian Federation expects that society in the United States will not allow elites to use censorship in their fight against each other, the consequences could become irreversible for the whole world.

“Let’s hope that, after all, American society will not allow elites to use this obvious censorship in a gross violation of the constitution and international obligations in their fight against each other. But this is the problem of American society. If the American cannot cope with this problem, we will have nothing to do with it. We cannot help it, but then we must be ready, everyone must be ready for the consequences of such a failure of the American state, and the consequences will be very serious on the world stage. I think everyone understands this”, – the Russian Foreign Minister stressed.

On January 6, a joint meeting of the houses of the US Congress to approve the results of the November presidential elections was interrupted by riots, during which supporters of Donald Trump broke into the complex of government buildings on the Capitol.

As a result of the attempted storming of the congress, four protesters and one policeman were killed. More than 160 cases have been opened over the riots.

However, late in the evening, lawmakers officially approved the election of Biden as the 46th President of the United States, the Democrat received more than 270 electoral votes approved by Congress.

Twitch, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and Instagram have previously blocked the accounts of the American leader for various periods due to his statements about the riots in Washington on January 6. The reason was video and text messages to protesters who seized the Capitol building in Washington. Having urged them, on the one hand, to behave peacefully and go home, Trump considered them patriots and announced election fraud.
