There are concerns in Norway about the safety of a Pfizer vaccine for the elderly, reports Bloomberg. Twenty-nine people have died after being injected with the drug by Pfizer and BioNTech
The Norwegian Medicines Agency (NoMA) said the minimum age of those who died from the vaccination was 75.
“Most people experienced the expected side effects of the vaccine, such as nausea and vomiting, fever, local reactions at the injection site and general deterioration”, – NoMA said.
The Norwegian Institute of Public Health said that even the side effects of the Pfizer vaccine can have serious consequences for people with severe medical conditions.
“For those who in any case have a very short remaining life expectancy, the benefit from the vaccine may be negligible or insignificant”, – the Institute stressed.
