Belarus has started vaccinating health workers with Sputnik V

The republic has signed an initial contract for the supply of 170 thousand doses of the drug in 2020

According to TASS, the republic’s Ministry of Health told Telegram on Saturday that the vaccination of medical workers with the Russian vaccine Sputnik V, who are at risk, has started in Belarus.

“The practice of starting vaccination with health workers is similar to that in the world. The Ministry of Health has distributed the vaccine to the regions – depending on the applications of health care institutions. All cold chain compliance issues have been worked out”, –  the report said.

According to the ministry, on Saturday, health facilities receive batches of Sputnik V vaccines to vaccinate health workers.

“First of all, 2 285 health workers in Minsk, 3 460 in Brest region, 3 260 in Vitebsk, 4 365 in Gomel, 1 735 in Grodno, 1 610 in Mahiliou and 2 485 in Minsk region are planned to be vaccinated”, –  informed the Ministry of Health. About 800 doses of vaccine will be sent to vaccinate health workers in the republican institutions.
