American scientists have identified two new types of coronavirus mutations that have formed in the United States.
The first mutation is similar to the one recently found in the UK. It was found in a patient in Ohio. The second strain was identified in Columbus. In just 3 weeks, it began to prevail in the city and has already acquired three new genetic mutations.
“At the moment, we have no information to believe that these mutations will have any effect on the effectiveness of the vaccines that are currently being used”, – said chief researcher at the University Medical Center Peter Moler.
