Source says meeting of “Norman” advisers to be held online

The next meeting of political advisers to the leaders of the “Normandy format” countries will take place in the format of a video conference, on January 22 – an unconfirmed date, a source in the Russian presidential administration told RIA Novosti.

Personal negotiations of the advisers took place yesterday in Berlin. They lasted for over six hours. From the Russian side, they were attended by the Deputy Head of the Kremlin Administration Dmitry Kozak. The parties discussed the implementation of the results of the 2019 Paris summit in terms of a political settlement of the conflict. The press service of the office of the President of Ukraine announced that the next meeting will take place on January 22.

“So far, there is no confirmation of the 22nd. In any case, the meeting will be held in an online format”, – the agency’s interlocutor said.

According to the results of the meeting in Berlin, Kozak assessed it as useful, however, in his opinion, it was impossible to boast of the result – no final solutions could be found. According to him, the parties agreed to prepare “new principles and approaches” for the implementation of the roadmap for settlement within the framework of the contact group. These issues will be discussed at the next meeting, which will take place within two weeks, and will be attended by political advisers and representatives of the Foreign Ministry, he said.
