Proclaimed U.S. president-elect, Democrat Joe Biden intends to nominate Merrick Garland as the country’s attorney general
This is reported by Politico, citing its own sources.
Garland currently serves as a judge of the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
He was once brought to the attention of Barack Obama. In 2016, while still president, Obama tried to promote Garland to the Supreme Court. The procedure was then stopped by the Republican-controlled Senate.
