Punitive campaign against Trump supporters launched in US

US mobile phone and social media operators are being forced to cooperate to bring charges against citizens who took part in the Capitol assault

As News Front reported, January in the US began with the storming of the Congress building in Washington. This is how Donald Trump’s supporters tried to prevent the approval of the results of the presidential election, in which cases of fraud in favor of Democrat Joe Biden were recorded. The protesters were attacked by the security forces and the protest was suppressed, but the crackdown on Trump supporters continues.

Dozens of protesters against the approval of the rigged election have so far been charged. US authorities, who have regularly criticised foreign governments for arresting protesters, have today launched a punitive machine themselves to crack down on the undesirables. Reuters reports that the FBI is forcing the cooperation of the public. Agents are demanding identification of participants in the high-profile rally from photos and videos that have circulated on the internet.

Enforcers have already detained Jacob Anthony Chanceley, who paraded around the Capitol with horns and a painted face, and Adam Christian Johnson, who stole the rostrum from the Speaker of the House.

Democratic Senator Mark Warner, who heads the Senate Intelligence Committee as of late, has already written letters to 11 mobile phone and social media operators outlining the authorities’ demands. The companies have been urged to retain content and metadata related to the Capitol assault.

In the letters, Warner made it clear that the authorities intended to use their own publications and text messages on social media against the citizens. All this has led to criminal charges against at least 12 citizens in D.C. District Court, as well as at least 40 more citizens in D.C. Supreme Court. Among them is Richard Barnett, who was photographed sitting in the office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives with his legs thrown up on the desk.
