Brazil plans to produce 8 million doses of Sputnik V vaccine per month

The South American republic’s pharmaceutical company Uniao Quimica, which is a partner of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), intends to produce 8 million doses of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine every month

“Next week we will start production. We plan to quickly reach a production level of 8 million doses per month”, –  Uniao Quimica’s director of international relations Rogério Rosso said.

Earlier the press service of the pharmaceutical company reported the receipt of cellular material for the production of the Russian vaccine. The drug is planned to be produced at facilities in Brasilia (Federal District) and Guarulhuis (São Paulo State). The pharmaceutical company also intends to apply for permission for emergency application of the vaccine in Brazil.
