The authors of The Newsweek have compiled an “atlas of happiness” and described how people in different countries improve their mood, reports PolitRussia
Observers of The Newsweek called the love for excitement and extreme sports the secret of Russian happiness.
“The secret to Russian happiness is “taking the bull by the horns,” i.e. life, and adapting to all the circumstances fate throws at them. It is uncomfortable to take risks, but extremism is the main peculiarity of the Russian spirit. What a blow from a birch broom in their bathhouse is worth it”, – the authors of the article pointed out.
According to Newsweek, similar sentiments can be observed in Finland, which for three years in a row has been voted “the happiest country in the world” by the UN.
“Finns are remarkably happy during the long, dark Arctic winter. They are filled with inner strength in extreme weather conditions through unusual activities, from cycling in the snow to swimming in the ice”, – according to the US publication.
