The morning prayer in the House of Representatives ended not with the traditional Amen, but with the politically correct, but fundamentally illiterate Amen and A-women.
According to the portal Inosmi, the desire of the Democrats of the US House of Representatives to finally abandon the dividing lines of gender was reflected in the unusual addition to the word “Amen”, which was supposed to end the prayer at the session of the House.
On Sunday, January 3, Emanuel Cleaver, Democrat and Member of the House of Representatives from Missouri, said a prayer at the opening session on the first day of the 117th US Congress. At the very end of the prayer, Cleaver decided to make a kind of political statement.
“Amen, and a-woman”, – he said (a pun based on the similarity of the word amen with the English man).
The addition “a-woman” sounded against the backdrop of insistent proposals from Democrats to change the rules and switch to gender-neutral words, that is, to replace words such as “father”, “mother”, “son”, “daughter”, “brother”, “sister “,” Uncle “,” aunt “and so on, into gender neutral terms.
The word “Amen” is a Hebrew word for the expression “May it be so!”
