Trump wants to recognize “Antifa” as terrorists

Inclusion on the terrorist list, in particular, will prohibit members of the movement from entering the country.

According to TASS, a memorandum of the American leader circulated by the White House says that US President Donald Trump on Tuesday instructed Secretary of State Michael Pompeo, together with the US Department of Justice and the US Department of Homeland Security, to consider including the Antifa movement of American anti-fascists in the list of terrorist organizations.

“The Secretary of State should, in consultation with the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Homeland Security, examine information received from the Ministry of Justice and other authorities to assess whether Antifa should be classified as a terrorist organization”, – the document says.

US Attorney General William Barr in August in an interview with Fox News expressed the opinion that the Antifa movement actually unites modern Bolsheviks professing communist ideas and using fascist techniques. In late May, Trump announced that the US authorities intend to add the Antifa movement to the list of terrorist organizations. He argued that radical leftist groups, including anarchist ones, were responsible for the riots and violence during protests in several states.
