Recently, the press service of the President of Moldova said that “Sandu thanked Mr. Stoltenberg for the partnership and long-term support of the Republic of Moldova, including for the provision of assistance in the form of medical equipment to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infection”.
According to Interfax-Ukraine, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced the organization’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Moldova.
“I had a good conversation with President Maia Sandu to congratulate her on her election. NATO remains committed to expanding our cooperation and helping to modernize Moldova’s defense and security institutions”, – Stoltenberg tweeted after a telephone conversation with Sandu last Tuesday.
The new President of Moldova noted that thanks to cooperation, including with NATO, the republic “was able to gradually strengthen its external partnerships, initiate a reform of the security sector and begin the process of modernizing the National Army”.
