Democrat President-elect Joseph Biden, speaking at a rally in Atlanta in support of Democrats John Ossoff and Rafael Warnock seeking election to the US Senate, said that Republican incumbent Donald Trump simply does not want to do his direct duties
“The power is in your hands now”, – Biden appealed to voters. – “Never before in my career has one state been able to set the course not just for the next four years, but for an entire generation.”
In the politician’s view, Republican senators David Perdue and Kelly Leffler, whose mandates are being challenged by Democrats, “believe they have sworn allegiance not to the Constitution of the United States, but to Donald Trump personally.”
The president-elect stressed that “things have been terrible for the current administration from the beginning”.
“President (Trump) spends more time lamenting and complaining instead of making efforts to solve the problem. I don’t understand why he’s still running for this (presidential) office, he simply doesn’t want to work”, – Biden concluded.
Georgia will hold a runoff election for the Senate on Tuesday, with two mandates on the line at once. The result will determine whether Republicans can retain control of the upper house of the US Congress or cede it to the Democrats.
