Russian peacekeepers demine more than 400 hectares of territory in Karabakh

Specialists of the International Mine Action Center of the Russian Defense Ministry have found and cleared more than 16 thousand explosive objects on more than 400 hectares of territory in Nagorno Karabakh

This is what the defence ministry reports.

“During the operation, the engineering units of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh have cleared more than 400 hectares of land, about 151 kilometres of roads, 617 buildings, including 22 socially significant objects. More than 16 thousand explosive objects were found and neutralized”, – the Ministry of Defense mentioned.

The ministry stressed that the peacekeepers use modern Uranium-6 robotic complexes, which make it possible to maintain a high demining rate in conditions of mountainous terrain and worsening weather. Detected objects and unexploded ammunition are removed and destroyed at a specially equipped range, and those that cannot be evacuated are destroyed on site with all the necessary safety measures in place.
