Member of the Bundestag Waldemar Gerdt called the possible rejection of the Russian project “Nord Stream-2” in the context of the gradual closure of nuclear power plants in Germany “suicide” and “absurdity”
“The rejection of Nord Stream 2 is simply suicide. The lack of energy is enormous. “Nord Stream 2″ will not cover Germany’s energy needs. And can you imagine if we don’t launch it?” – Gerdt explained.
He continued by arguing that the phase-out of nuclear power is a serious problem for Germany. According to the parliamentarian, the decision to shut down the nuclear power plant was made “against the backdrop of green hysteria”.
