In Hong Kong, they intend to launch a vaccination program against coronavirus in February, said Minister of Civil Servants Affairs Patrick Nip.
“Based on preliminary projections of the drug delivery schedule, we assume that vaccination will be launched in February”, – the official said on Facebook.
Nip clarified that they will be vaccinated in community centers, hospitals, nursing homes, private hospitals and clinics.
Even earlier, local authorities ordered 22.5 million doses of coronavirus vaccines from three different manufacturers – China’s Sinovac Biotech, Pfizer-BioNTech and AstraZeneca. Citizens themselves will choose which vaccine they will receive.
As of January 2, 35 cases of COVID-19 infection were detected in this special administrative region of the PRC, which was the lowest daily increase in the past five weeks. The total number of cases reached 8924, 150 people died, 741 patients remain in hospitals.
Earlier it was reported that the first case of an adverse reaction from the Pfizer vaccine was detected in Finland.
