Nord Stream-2 to be completed in 2021

Nord Stream-2 may be completed by the end of 2021, Bloomberg reports.

The 1,230-kilometer Russian pipeline reached a key construction moment when work was completed on a portion of it in German waters. Now we need to complete the 157-kilometer stretch in the waters of Denmark.

According to the source, progress in the construction of the gas pipeline is a victory for Vladimir Putin and Gazprom, since the completion of Nord Stream-2 will allow Russia to increase gas supplies to Europe and bypass the traditional transport corridor through Ukraine.

“There is still another 120 kilometers of pipeline to be laid in Danish waters and about 30 kilometers in the German exclusive economic zone. We can not provide more details about the construction and will report on the upcoming work at sea at the appropriate time”, – a Nord Stream-2 operator was quoted by Bloomberg.
